Planning, field evidence, commercial control and communication sit in the same permissioned project record. Availability stays explicit: a provider-backed action is never shown as complete before the provider confirms it, and a capability whose backend is unavailable is named here rather than implied.
Plan and coordinate
Jobs, schedules, milestones, capacity, decisions and the chronological project record share one source of truth — the same project row the estimate, the invoices and the holdbacks hang off.
Work in the field
Field capture is built around exact sync state, daily logs, progress, inspections and deficiencies. A daily log carries a client-supplied source key with a uniqueness constraint plus its own capture time and optional GPS, so a log that syncs twice cannot become two entries.
That is a property the database enforces about duplicate writes, not a claim that the application works offline end to end — no offline behaviour has been verified.
Control money
- Estimates, commitments, purchasing, change, invoices, holdbacks and project cost retain their sources and approvals.
- The 10% statutory holdback is a modelled obligation with a release trigger and a dated clock, held and released as double-entry ledger movements.
- Contingency, margin and Ontario HST at 13% are computed deterministically in code rather than by a model.
There is no payment rail and no accounting connector in use. Card processing, QuickBooks and Xero are declared connectors only, so payments and accounting reconciliation are not capabilities of this build.
Keep everyone aligned
JobSite provides scoped, builder-branded surfaces: the builder workspace for staff, a project portal a client can be invited to, and a trade-partner portal reached by invitation. Each sees the records, current drawings, decisions and communication history its scope allows.
Outbound and inbound email are not operating in this build and messaging over SMS or voice is not enabled, so none of these surfaces should be read as implying a notification reaches anyone by mail or phone today.
